How do I create an account?
There are two ways to create an account:
1. Sign Up:

Click on the ‘Sign Up button in the top right corner of the screen

Enter the following information:

Click ‘Register’
2. Facebook Connect:
When you use the ‘Facebook Connect’ function, we create a MyLittleBigBook accout for you, using your Facebook account information.

Click on the ‘Facebook Connect’ button in the top right corner or the screen
A pop-up window will appear

Enter the following information:
-
Email (the email address that you use to log into Facebook)
-
Password (the password that you use to log into Facebook)
-
Email (the email address that you use to log into Facebook)

Click ‘Connect’ to create an account
-
Alternatively, click ‘Cancel’ to exit this screen
- You can also click ‘Sign up for Facebook’ if you do not have a Facebook account and wish to create one.
Note: Once you are connected using Facebook Connect, you need to always use this function to log into MyLittleBigBook. If later, you would like to set up your account irrespective of Facebook, simply input your email address as well as a username and password into your ‘Account’ information.
This will allow you to log in using the ‘Login’ function, and it will allow us to send you updates when new books suited to your children come available.
How do I log in?
Once you are a registered user, you can login, in one of the following ways

If you would like the Website to remember your detail for next time, simply check the box ‘Remember me next time’.

I am an author, why should I create an account?
Creating an account allows you to upload your books, for others to view. We hope that this will benefit you, as the author in the following ways:

Gives you an avenue to show your books to an audience of young readers

Allows others to comment on and review your books
- Allows you to monetize your work, through advertising on our website
I am a reader, why should I create an account?
However, creating an account allows us to keep track of what books you like and recommend books for your children. It also allows you to review books, and participate in discussions in the Community section.
How do I upload a book?
In order to upload a new book:

Log in
-
Click ‘My Writings’
-
Click ‘New Story’
-
Click ‘Browse’
- You can then select up to 10 books, and click ‘Open’
Note: Only books in PDF format are supported at this time

For each book you have uploaded, you will be asked to complete the following options:
-
Title
-
Description
-
Language
-
Main Character Gender (This helps us recommend your book to readers)
-
Age Min (What is the minimum age reader that his book is suitable for?)
-
Age Max (What is the maximum age reader that this book is suitable for?)
-
Category (You may choose as many as you like)

Title
- Click ‘Save’
You can this point click on the name of the book in order to view it.
Once you have saved information about each book you uploaded, a ‘Return to ‘My Writings’’ button will appear
Clicking this button takes you back to the ‘My Writings’ page.
Note: Your file will be converting in the background and may not be available to view for a few minutes.
How do I edit my exiting books?
In order to edit an existing book:

Click ‘My Writings’

Click ‘Edit’ to the right of the title of the book you wish to edit
Note: You can also achieve this clicking ‘Edit’ a the top of the book in the ‘Read’ more
Here you can edit the following information:

Title

To change the avatar for your book, either choose one of the available avatars in the ‘Avatar’ section, or:

Click ‘Choose File’

Select a file you would like to use

Click ‘Open’
The new Avatar will be available to view once you click ‘Save’
Upload New File
To replace the existing file:

Click ‘Browse’ underneath ‘Upload New File’

Select a new file and click ‘Open’
How do I delete a book?
In order to delete an existing book:

Click ‘My Writings’
-
Click ‘Delete’ to the right of the title of the book you wish to edit
A pop-up window will appear asking you ‘Are you sure you want to delete this book?’

Click ‘Yes’ to delete or ‘Cancel’ to cancel.
How do I browse books?
In order to browse available books, simply click ‘Browse Books’ in the top menu.
A selection of featured books appears on the home screen.
You can browse books by the following:

Gender
-
Age
-
Recommended for your children (based on information you have provided us)
- Category
You can also search by typing a keyword into the ‘Search’ field at the top left of the ‘Browse Books’ page.
You can sort your results by the following options at the top right of the page:

Title
-
Publish Time
- Most Popular
- Top Rated
How do I add my children?
Adding information about your children allows us to recommend books which we believe would be suited to them, based on age and gender.
In order to input information about your children, go to ‘My Profile’. On this page there is a section called ‘Children’. Add the following information:
- Your child’s name
- Gender
- Date of birth
To delete a child from this list, check the box next to ‘Delete?’ to the right of the child’s name. Then click ‘Save’
How do I add a book to My Bookshelf?
Adding a book to My Bookshelf, means that the chosen book will appear when you click ‘My Bookshelf’.
In order to add a book to ‘My Bookshelf’, go to the Book Screen of the book you wish to add, simply click ‘Add to My Bookshelf’, to the right of the book.
How do I subscribe to my favourite author?
Subscribing to an author means that new books by this author appear on your homepage. but also It gives that author more weight, makes him or her popular and gets shown in the popular authors
In order to subscribe to an author, either go to the author’s profile page or a view a book by the authoy, then simply click ‘Subscribe’ inside the author profile box’.
To unsubscribe, click ‘Unsubscribe’ in the same location.
How do I write a review and rate a book?
Rating a book contributes to the books average rating. Top rated books are more likely to appear in the featured books section. Therefore, it’s very useful for the author, if you like his or her book, that you take a moment to give it a rating.
In order to write a review and give a book a star rating, go to the Book Screen. Underneath the book, click ‘New Review’.
Here you can choose a start rating for this book, and write any comments you may have. Click ‘Post’ when you are finished.
Your review will appear at the top of the list of reviews underneath the book.
How do I download a book?
Downloading a book allows you to save a full PDF version of the book to your computer.
In order to download a book, go to the Book Screen. To the right of the book, click ‘Download’. Then save the book to your computer.
How do I print a book?
To print a book, you need to download the PDF version first. You can then print by choosing File > Print.
How do I share books with my friends?
You can tell your friends about a particular book in one of the following ways, available on the right of the Book Screen.
- Facebook Share – This will post a link to the particular book on your Facebook wall.
- Twitter – This will create a Tweet with a link to the particular book.
- Email to a friend – This will send an email with a link to the book and a message from you to the nominated email address .
- Email to me – This will send a PDF of the book to your email address.
How can I make money from my books?
We are constantly working on new ways to allow authors to monetize their work, currently, we allow authors to enter a Google Adsense ID on their My Author Profile page. After doing this, Google Ads will be shown using the author’s Adsense ID 50% of the time.
In the future, authors will be able to charge users to view and download their books, while still giving them the option of allowing users to preview a small section of the book.
Where can I interact with other users?
You can read current discussions as well as create and reply to topics in the ‘Community’ section, found in the top menu.
To create a topic, simply fill in the fields on the left of the screen (Title, Content, Category) and click ‘Post’.
To reply to an existing topic, simply click on the topic, and then click ‘Reply’. Type your reply and click ‘Post’.
